We are excited about our new web portal for the Preparing to Teach Mathematics with Technology (PTMT) project. We currently have about 60 mathematics teacher educators and 45 students registered to access our materials!

We wanted to remind you that the materials for each of our modules (An Integrated Approach to Data Analysis and Probability, An Integrated Approach to Geometry, and An Integrated Approach to Algebra) are available for FREE online through this portal. To register for access to our web portal, please visit go.ncsu.edu/ptmtportal and click the “Register for Access” button under the picture that appears on the page. You can register for Instructor access to get facilitator guide materials (directions attached). We have removed all of the Algebra materials and the facilitator guides for the DAP and GEO materials from the TUMTE wikispace. Extra files and materials contributed by members will remain, but all files and instructor support materials are now in our new portal.

In the Place @ the Friday Institute, you will also find two current MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) designed for educators, Fraction Foundations and Teaching Statistics Through Data Investigations. Many faculty have used these free online courses in local teacher education courses and workshops. With funding from the Hewlett Foundation, we are creating two new MOOCs that will launch in 2016-2017. One will be focused on technology-enabled mathematics teaching, and the other on teaching inference with simulations and dynamic statistics tools. Both will draw upon some of the tasks and tools in the PTMT materials!
